As the haze clears, and temps return to normal,
it’s a sign that summer is winding down in Portland. Time to gear up for
fall festivities…especially ones that feature beer!
Mark your calendar for November 4th and join us to sip on the best beers of the season at
McMenamins 5th Annual Autumn Ale Fest at the Wilsonville Old Church & Pub.
Not
your average beer fest, this event brings together McMenamins brewers
past and present to showcase their best fall ales in a bit of friendly
competition known as the “War for the Oar.” The winning brewer (selected
by festival attendees) receives bragging rights
and an engraving on a wooden oar trophy. While some of the competing
brewers have moved on to new ventures, many honed their craft at one of
McMenamins 25 breweries at one point or another. Bringing them together
family reunion style creates the perfect environment
for stiff competition resulting in amazing autumn ales.

Between pours, you can also enjoy live music from
Rich Layton & The Troublemakers, take a tour of the Old Church
Brewery – including the recently renovated
Undercroft Bar – and enjoy delicious food.
