PORTLAND, Ore. (June 30, 2017) —  The Oregon Brewers Guild brings back the month-long party that is Oregon Craft Beer Month in honor of the state’s commitment to craft beer. This year’s OCBM is chock-full, with 31 beer-filled days of over 450 beer-related events statewide. July is all about celebrating Oregon beer culture and supporting the state’s amazing breweries.
“There’s no better time or place for craft beer lovers than Oregon in July,” says Brian Butenschoen, executive director of the Oregon Brewers Guild. “With nearly 500 events at the 350 brewery-owned locations, grocery stores, bottle shops, beer bars, and restaurants, it’s a daily celebration of Oregon’s rich brewing culture.”
Oregon Craft Beer Month commences with the Portland Craft Beer Festival at Fields Neighborhood Park June 30-July 2. This year the festival will feature 118 different beverages from 63 participating breweries, cideries, and wineries. Portland’s own legendary beer guru, John Foyston, will be tapping the ceremonial first keg to kick off the event. The rest of July will include plenty of special beer releases, brewery tours, meet the brewer events, beer festivals, and events supporting local communities at breweries across the state.

The state of Oregon boasts seven Ale Trails. If you’re looking for an excellent summer getaway, trek down one, or all seven. The largest beer trail is located in Bend, with others snaking through the state. Check out the Ale Trails in Eugene, Eastern Oregon, the Breweries of the Gorge, Southern Oregon, the North Coast, and the Portland Eastside Ale Trail.
After nearly a month of reveling in all Oregon’s hoppy goodness, beer lovers can attend the grand finale: the 30th Oregon Brewers Festival, taking place July 26-30 in Portland’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park. One of the longest running and best loved beer festivals in the nation, OBF showcases beers from 91 different craft breweries, plus one from overseas. It’s the perfect, refreshing finish to an exciting, event-filled month.
