Portland, Ore ... Old Town Brewing® (OTB®), a locally owned and operated Portland nationally recognized brewery, has just released its third limited batch beer in collaboration with Portland-filmed TV series, Grimm®. Wesen Venom (pronounced Vesen Venom), a red wheat lager, will benefit OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and culminate the series’ final season. The beer will be available at both the Old Town location on NW Davis and the brewery location on Martin Luther King Blvd, with $2 of every pint going directly to the Grimmster Endowment at OHSU Doernbecher.

The Wesen Venom is a wheat lager brewed with red wheat and crystal malt, giving the beer a venom red color and hint of sweetness. Don’t be fooled, however, just like venom, the beer packs a bit of a bite thanks to the spicy hops used in the brewing process. This unique lager comes in with an ABV of 5.4 percent and 40 IBU.

The beer will be officially launch on Thursday January 19, at the brewery located at 5201 NE MLK Boulevard and Taproom on 226 NW Davis St.

We have had so much fun working with the Grimm team over the last three years to develop out of the box beers inspired by the show to benefit such an amazing cause, OHSU Doernbecher,” said owner of Old Town Brewing, Adam Milne. “As a brewery, working with creative people in our community to create high quality beer keeps us excited, and as members of our community, the ability to positively impact people in our own back yard keeps us inspired.”

The beer will be served at this year’s third annual Grimm Gala on January 28, 2017 where Grimm cast members will join together with Comcast and NBC Universal in support of OHSU Doernbecher. Though the event is sold out this year, donations can be directly online in addition to purchasing the Wesen Venom beer.

About Old Town Brewing Co.
Old Town Brewing (OTB) opened in northeast Portland, Ore., in 2011 with an emphasis on crafting its beer to reflect the spirit, values, history and personality of Portland and the Northwest. OTB is the first brewery in the country to deliver beer and pizza by bike straight to consumers, rain or shine. Reclaimed materials were extensively incorporated into the design of the LEED Gold brewery, evoking an atmosphere of Northwest authenticity and sustainability.

Old Town’s award winning brews can be found statewide in Oregon and in Southwest Washington at retailers like New Seasons, Whole Foods, Safeway, Albertsons, and Costco.

Owner Adam Milne opened OTB to complement his Old Town Pizza® location in Portland’s historic Old Town neighborhood. A devoted Old Town Pizza customer since celebrating his ninth birthday at the restaurant, Milne purchased Old Town Pizza from the original owners, the Accuardi family, in 2003.
