Courtesy of Rogue ales
Newport, OR—In a tropical collision of kindred spirits, Oregon’s Rogue Ales and Hawaii’s Paradise Beverage announce the release of Paradise Pucker, a Hawaiian-inspired sour ale brewed with passion fruit, orange and guava – better known as simply “POG.”

Inspired by Rogue’s longtime admiration for the state of Hawaii, Paradise Pucker is dedicated to the Mahalo spirit as well as Rogue’s late founder, Jack Joyce, a lifelong lover of the islands and part-time resident.

“We’ve been wearing Tiki shirts for the last 768 Tuesdays,” said Rogue President Brett Joyce, “So you could say we had some pre-existing inspiration to make a POG beer.”

Paradise Pucker will be available on draft and in serigraphed 22oz bottles throughout the state of Hawaii starting September 1, as the first ever bottled sour from Rogue Ales. Paradise Pucker can also be found on draft in limited quantities at all Rogue locations. For more information, visit our www.rogue.com.

Courtesy of Summit Brewing Co

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Aug. 3, 2016) – Summit Brewing Company today announces the release of 30th Anniversary West London-Style Ale, the third of four celebratory beers in the brewery’s 30th Anniversary Series. The beer will be released at a Summit 30th Anniversary Celebration from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at Brit’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis. The event will feature the inaugural tapping of West London-Style Ale served alongside other Summit favorites, plus live music by Freddie Manton & The Southsiders and Hard Day’s Night Beatles Tribute Band. West London-Style Ale will then be available on draught and in six- and 12-packs of 12-ounce cans the second week of August.

Combining the classic Maris Otter ale malt with traditional and modern hop varieties, head brewer Damian McConn produced a sophisticated yet highly-drinkable British-Style Best Bitter. It is medium-bodied with toasty, graham cracker malt flavors, complemented with hop flavors and aromas of loganberry, redcurrant, grapefruit and lime.

“The 30th Anniversary Series showcases the unique qualities and attributes that have helped drive Summit forward over the last three decades,” said McConn. “We kicked off the series early in the year with a powerful Double IPA, followed up in late spring with a classical German Keller Pils, and now we’re staying across the pond as we enter August with a thirst-quenching session ale packed with flavor. West London-Style Ale presents complexity, character and drinkability in a low ABV beer with an assertive hop profile that doesn’t overwhelm beer lovers.”

Sander's Wit Marks Home Brewer's Series Premiere

PORTLAND, Ore. (August 02, 2016) Portland Brewing and the Oregon Brew Crew have teamed up to celebrate the Rose City’s warmest months with the launch of a brand new collaboration brew — Sander’s Wit. Their refreshing take on this classic light beer style is the first in Portland Brewing’s Home Brewer’s Series — a small-batch brewing project launched to connect brewing enthusiasts with professional brewers. In the spirit of community, for every pint poured, Portland Brewing will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Oregon Food Bank

Home brewing is where many great breweries get their start, and Portland Brewing has enlisted Oregon Brew Crew member, Sander Hoekstra, to kick off the Home Brewer’s series with his recipe. Brewed as a classic wit, this beer is unfiltered and cloudy with the heavy use of unmalted wheat and oats. “Sander’s Wit has notes of spiced coriander and bitter orange peel with the yeasts adding additional flavors, making for a very refreshing beer, perfect for drinking on a summer day,” says Ryan Pappe, Head Brewer at Portland Brewing. “Brewing with Portland Brewing has been a big honor, a wonderful recognition of my home brewing hobby.” says Hoekstra. “It’s been a really educational experience as well. Ryan and I were able to share brewing tips and tricks. I love making great beer. He loves making great beer. We were a good team.” The beer comes in at ABV: 4.2% | IBU: 20
The three-beer Home Brewer’s Series celebrates and recognizes the dedicated and passionate individuals who contribute to Oregon’s world-class brewing scene every day. The series provides each winning home brewer with the opportunity to pitch their brew to their favorite local watering hole. Sander’s Wit is available beginning August 2, for a limited-time and can be found at the Portland Brewing Taproom, the Abbey Bar & Bottle Shop, and the Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom in Happy Valley. Catch up with Sander and the Portland Brewing team at the Portland Brewing Taproom on Wednesday, August 3 from 5-7pm, for the launch of Sander’s Wit. The next beers in the series debut in September and November.

“It was only natural that as an extension of our passions here at the brewery, we would establish a team of all-stars who celebrate the outdoors and also happen to enjoy a delicious beer at the end of the day,” says Nikos Ridge, Ninkasi CEO, co-founder and amateur kayaker, mountain biker, and paraglider. “Honestly, there is no time that a beer tastes better than at the end of an epic outdoor adventure doing something you love.”

Under the brewery’s core purpose its employees have found one of the best way to lead a balanced life is pairing craft beer with outdoor activities. Each weekend many of its employees can be found hiking, trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, surfing, or hanging out on the company rock climbing wall. “We share many of the same interests as our Team Total Domination members,” says Ridge. “I’m excited to continue to be inspired by this group and, in-turn, inspire our fans to get out there and explore!”

Mary Rand - Professional Snowboarder, Snowboarding Coach
On the mountain or working on her skateboarding skills, Mary Rand of Index, Washington, seriously knows her way around a board. Named the Transworld Snowboarder 2016 Reader’s Choice and 2015 Rookie of the Year, Rand embodies the pure joy of a day on the mountain.

“Living in/around Seattle, Washington for the last few years I have caught the Northwest pride bug; thus making me feel even more excited to be a part of an originally grown, northwest company.  And of course, I love delicious beer, and sharing delicious beer with friends.”

Matt & Agnes Hage - Outdoor Photographers, Backpackers
Hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, and working from the road, tent, or plane, husband-wife duo Matt and Agnes Hage never turn down the opportunity of a new adventure. Rush Sturges - Pro Kayaker, Producer & Filmmaker
White Salmon, Washington may be the place he calls home, but any given week, Rush Sturges can be found conquering the next big waterfall or descent. Coveting awards like OUTSIDE’s Adventurer of the Year or 20 Greatest Athletes Now, Sturges also finds time to pair his love for water with a passion for filmmaking. His latest directorial and producing work, “Chasing Niagara,” debuted July and has quickly gained popularity among the kayaking community and thrill seekers.

Coronado Brewing Company Plans for the Future with New COO Announcements

Courtesy of Coronado Brewing Co
San Diego, CA - July 27, 2016
Coronado Brewing Company is celebrating 20 years of crafting award-winning beers, and now the company is taking a major step forward in planning for the future. The company recently announced the appointment of two chief operating officers to facilitate growth while laying the long-term foundation of independent ownership. "As we continue to grow, and strive to remain independent, we believe it is important to put key people in place who can take the company forward for the foreseeable future," said Ron Chapman, CEO, Coronado Brewing Company. "As my brother and I think about the next five to ten years, we want to be able to hand over the reins knowing we have the right team in place to keep our vision alive."

As the family-owned company enters its second decade of operations, it promotes two internal employees to the shared COO role; Brandon Richards and Kasey Chapman will focus on brewery and retail operations, respectively. Kasey currently oversees the company's retail facilities, including the original brewpub in Coronado, brewery and tasting room in San Diego, and the newly opened fast-casual location in Imperial Beach.  Kasey has been with the company for 15 years and will be vital in maintaining a consistent vision as the company's retail operations evolve.  "Kasey has been with us from very early on; as we plan for the future, having someone in the family with their head in the business was very important for us," said Chapman.

Brandon Richards joined the Coronado family in 2012; he has been instrumental in developing a cohesive sales strategy, as well as implementing the recent brand refresh. "Brandon has been an important addition to the Coronado Brewing family; his background in a family business combined with his previous tenure in the industry has been tremendously valuable to us," said Chapman.  Brandon will now assume strategic oversight of brewery operations while continuing to lead Sales and Marketing. "Working with the Chapman family has been fantastic," said Richards.  "I'm so proud to be part of the Coronado family. Rick and Ron have created an amazing environment for their employees; we challenge each other every day to do better and I'm excited for what the future holds," said Richards.

The changes in roles will be effectively immediately. The remaining executive team at Coronado Brewing Company include Ron Chapman, CEO; Rick Chapman, President; and J.D. Douglas, CFO. Stay Coastal. Cheers.

About Coronado Brewing Company
In 1996, when craft beer was still a foreign term and San Diego County was home to only a handful of breweries, the Chapman brothers Ron and Rick opened a brewpub in their hometown of Coronado. Today CBC stays true to their San Diego roots, brewing abundantly hoppy West Coast-style ales, which are available today in 18 US states and twelve countries. In addition to the long-established pub in Coronado, the company opened a tasting room inside their newly built San Diego production facility in early 2013, and a tasting room and restaurant in Imperial Beach, California in 2014. Coronado Brewing Company was honored in 2014 with one of the brewing industry's most prestigious awards-World Beer Cup Champion Brewery and Brewmaster for a Mid-size Brewing Company.

Aug. 1 Marks Diamond Knot Craft Brewing’s Release of an Annual Fall Favorite: Fog Bank Fall Ale

Courtesy of Diamond Knot Craft Brewing
MUKILTEO, WA – Fall may be right around the corner, but for the crew at Diamond Knot Craft Brewing, the leaves may as well start falling and the crisp autumn days begin. Fog Bank Fall Ale is set to release Aug. 1 to thirsty fans throughout the area.

“There’s something about Fog Bank Fall Ale that gets us all primed for shorter days and colder temps,” Sherry Jennings, DK’s Dir. of Marketing, said. “The beer’s color is beautiful; definitely a reflection of the warm fall colors.”

Fog Bank was first brewed by DK’s founders as a traditional Märzen style, but with ale yeast. Staying with the style, Fog Bank is brewed with Vienna and Munich malts, which impart a characteristic deep and elegant malt profile. The ale yeast gives this beer a lot more character and depth than a traditional lager.

The reddish amber color reflects the change in foliage and the bursting of maple reds. Just as crisp as those autumn mornings, Fog Bank Fall Ale has a bright, crisp flavor with a full malty finish. With a mild 5.8% ABV (30 IBUs), this seasonal is the perfect transition from the brewery's Binnacle Summer Ale to its darker winter brews.

The Fog Bank name gives a nod to that fateful day off the Olympic Peninsula and the two-month-long marine salvage that ensued shortly after in 1947. Aug. 13 proved unforgiving with a thick fog that embraced the Strait of Juan de Fuca. When the MV Diamond Knot, loaded with 75 percent of Alaska’s seasonal salmon catch and 100,000 gallons of fish oil, motored toward Seattle, the fog got the best of the rudimentary navigation tools, and early that morning the Fenn Victory collided with the Diamond Knot, damaging the Diamond Knot enough to cause its sinking in 135 feet of water just off Port Angeles.

Fog Bank Fall Ale hits store shelves in 22-oz. bottles and the taps at all three Diamond Knot locations, as well as your favorite watering holes throughout Washington, the first week in August.

Founded in 1994, Diamond Knot Craft Brewing is a privately held company and Snohomish County’s oldest continuously-operating, independently-owned brewery. Handcrafted Diamond Knot ales can be found in 12 states, British Columbia and Japan, both in bottles and on draft.  Additionally, Diamond Knot operates three production breweries and two full-service restaurants in Washington; the Brewery & Alehouse in Mukilteo and the Brewpub @ MLT in Mountlake Terrace. Diamond Knot prides itself in providing exceptional food, craft beer and lively experiences, as well as being charitable members of the communities in which it operates.
