Detroit Bikes to build nearly 2,500 custom New Belgium cruiser bikes, doubling US-based bike builders’ workforce
Ft. Collins, Colo. – April 20, 2016–
For the first time ever, New Belgium Brewing is producing its coveted
special edition cruiser bikes in the U.S., using Detroit Bikes, a
Detroit-based bicycling manufacturer and North America’s largest bicycle
producer. Just in time for warmer weather, the bikes are now hitting
the streets through New Belgium fundraisers, giveaways and as one-year
anniversary gifts to New Belgium co-workers. The partnership has created
new manufacturing jobs in Detroit with the company doubling its
workforce from 20 to 40 employees.
“As I started to think about production and making bikes back in 2011,
Detroit was the best place to look,” noted Zak Pashak, Founder and
President of Detroit Bikes. “Detroit has such a rich history of
production and certainly we’ve benefited greatly with a skilled local
workforce. This partnership is hugely exciting because it marks a big
shift in the industry and an amazing show of support for American bike
manufacturing.”
Courtesy of Detroit Bikes
Detroit Bikes will produce about 2,500 cruiser bikes during this first
year. So far about 1,000 bikes have been released, with about 40 bikes
going out a day.
“Bikes are a big part of our history and culture so partnering with
Detroit Bikes just made sense in every way,” said New Belgium Brewing
Bike Designer, Ryan McKee. “Zak first reached out to us and we were
inspired by his vision. We’ve been looking to source U.S. made bikes for
some time, which isn’t easy at scale. We now get to work with a U.S.
bike manufacturer to produce thousands of bikes, while also giving an
economic boost to Detroit.”

With this year marking New Belgium’s 25th anniversary, an anniversary celebration will be held with Detroit Bikes later this summer.

CORONADO, Calif. - April 20, 2016- Coronado
Brewing Company is excited to announce the release of their newest
seasonal beer, Berry The Hatchet. A long time favorite, Berry The
Hatchet will now be available in bottles for the masses. Light, and
bursting with flavor, this ale brewed with berries makes for a perfect

exciting feature for Coronado Brewing Company, as it will be the first
bottle and packaging to feature the company's new brand refresh design.
Refreshing, light, and slightly tart but never sour; Berry
The Hatchet is infused with a bushel of flavor. Red raspberries,
blackberries, and boysenberries collide with hops and malt to deliver a
deliciously crisp, rose-colored ale that's a perfect addition to the
summer.
Berry The Hatchet will now be available in 12 ounce 6-packs, 22 ounce bottles, and draft. May 1
marks the official release for the beer and will be available in 16

New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin,

About Coronado Brewing Company: In 1996, when
craft beer was still a foreign term and San Diego County was home to
only a handful of breweries, the Chapman brothers Ron and Rick opened a
brewpub in their hometown of Coronado. Today CBC stays true to their San
Diego roots, brewing abundantly hoppy West Coast-style ales, which are
available today in nineteen US states and twenty countries. In addition
to the long-established pub in Coronado, the company opened a tasting
room inside their newly built San Diego production facility in early
2013, and a tasting room and restaurant in Imperial Beach, California in
2014. Coronado Brewing Company was honored in 2014 with one of the
brewing industry's most prestigious awards-World Beer Cup Champion
Brewery and Brewmaster for a Mid-size Brewing Company.

near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and

EUGENE, Ore.—April 19, 2016—Ninkasi Brewing Company,
an independent craft brewery based in Eugene, Oregon, announces a new
look for its Flagship Series beers as it prepares to celebrate its
tenth anniversary. This month, craft beer drinkers can expect to see new
packaging hit the shelf for three Flagship Series brands:
Total Domination IPA,
Tricerahops Double IPA, and
Dawn of the Red, Red IPA.
Founded by Jamie Floyd and Nikos Ridge in 2006, Ninkasi has grown to become the 36th
largest craft brewery in the United States, employing just over
100 with distribution in 14 states. The brewery first entered the
Oregon craft beer scene with Total Domination, a quintessential
Northwest India Pale Ale with a heavy hop hit. Still the number one
selling IPA in Oregon, Total Domination established Ninkasi’s
reputation for producing highly-hopped, yet balanced beers. Now
crafting year-round styles for all palates, Ninkasi still prides itself
on its IPA portfolio which includes Tricerahops Double IPA and Dawn of
the Red, Red IPA, both available year-round from
Ninkasi’s Flagship Series.
As
the brewery heads into its second decade of brewing, it became clear
that the time was right to revamp its core products to tell a bigger
visual story. “We
started Ninkasi with the intent to help foster community,” says Jamie
Floyd, Ninkasi co-founder and founding brewer. “Art and music have
always been at the center of everything we do.” Whether its recording
artists at its in-house studio, crafting steel tap
handles at its metal fabrication shop, or collaborating on a new
project through its Artist in Residence program, Ninkasi’s passion for
art resonates throughout the brewery. “As we celebrate a decade of
brewing, it seemed like a natural time to give our brands
an updated look that further expresses who we are and where we are
going,” explains Floyd.
“These
brands now better represent what we hold true to Ninkasi,” adds Nikos
Ridge, Ninkasi CEO and co-founder. “We love our home in the Pacific
Northwest, our
access to the outdoors and the awesome cultural experiences that
revolve around the unique passions and experiences that resonate here.”
Developed by Ninkasi’s in-house design team in collaboration with its
Artist in Residence,
gig poster artist Neal Williams, the art reflects the brewery’s
move to a more art-forward aesthetic capturing the personality of each
beer. Ninkasi has slowly evolved the look of its products with more
art-forward packaging for year-round brands like
Helles Belles Helles Lager and
Easy Way IPA.
“This new style celebrates our
brand entering into a more art-focused look while also reflecting how
our consumers have shown us they like to enjoy these beers,” says Ridge.
“Whether that’s summiting a mountain with Total Domination IPA,
celebrating with Tricerahops Double IPA, or watching
a cult classic with Dawn of the Red.”

Total Domination IPA
Ninkasi’s
first Flagship beer, Total Domination ranks as the top selling IPA in
Oregon. Over the years, Ninkasi fans have demonstrated this beer is best
enjoyed when exploring the great outdoors, no matter if it’s camping or
mountaineering. The new look of Total Domination
features a scenic mountain range, bringing the serenity and adventurous
spirit of the Pacific Northwest to wherever this classic Northwest IPA
is enjoyed.

Tricerahops Double IPA
Known
for its colossal hop profile, Tricerahops Double IPA has garnered quite
a fan-following. Often referred to as “the party animal,” this beer’s
fun-loving nature and big hop profile keeps Tricerahops on the go-to
list of many hopheads. With a refreshed look,
the true nature of this beer is brought to life. Inspired in-part by
Ninkasi’s in-house fabrication shop, the branding features a
metal-constructed Triceratops overtaking a lost world.
Courtesy of Ninkasi Brewing Co
Dawn of the Red, Red IPA
Ninkasi
takes pride in embracing its nerdier side along with its rock ‘n’ roll
spirit. Dawn of the Red, Red IPA combines both passions, featuring
elements of a post-apocalyptic, zombie-ridden world. The updated look
incorporates scenes from Eugene, including the city’s
iconic Ferry Street Bridge crossing the Willamette River. Paired with a
rock ‘n’ roll zombie hand, Dawn of the Red embodies the brewery’s
animated character.

ESCONDIDO, CA (April 18, 2016) – Stone Brewing’s 20th Anniversary celebration continues with the encore edition of Stone 6th Anniversary Porter.
Beginning this week, this imperial smoked porter conditioned with
American and French oak chips will arrive in 22-ounce bottles and on
draft. True to the Stone 20th Anniversary Encore series,
Stone maintained the original recipe and features artwork evocative of
its first time on store shelves. Fans will find either the classic label
or a new version with back-label text that pays homage to the beer’s
history.
What unfolds on the new 2016 label is a tribute to the recipe
experimentation and an oak chip fermenter mishap that occurred while
attempting to amplify Stone Smoked Porter. Stone celebrated its first
five anniversaries by increasingly intensifying the hop character of
Stone 1st Anniversary IPA (aka Stone IPA). By 2002, we reached a point
where additional hops could not realistically be added to the recipe. So
instead, to keep up with the same “go big” philosophy, Stone cranked up
its year-round mainstay porter not one…but three notches! More malt,
more hops and the component of French and American oak were introduced
to accentuate the smokiness, chocolate and roast coffee flavors along
with adding subtle notes of toffee, dried berries and vanilla. To recap
the mishap, oak chips jammed a fermenter valve that, when we attempted
to clear the issue, resulted in this dark-as-night wonder shooting out
of the fermenter like a fire hose…and sending a lot of beer down the
drain. This resulted in significant losses, which made it one of our
rarest anniversary releases.
Adding more to the backstory is the classic 2002 label, which was dubbed
a “logophobic nightmare.” At the time, Team Stone was asked to submit
words for Stone CEO & co-founder Greg Koch to incorporate into his
notoriously verbose back bottle copy. Words like “lurpy” and “Huggy
Bear” proved to create such nonsense that, well, this very short-lived
anniversary tradition didn’t last a year longer. Consider this label an
invitation to identify all the ludicrous offenders.
logophobia [law-guh-foh-bee-uh, log-uh-]
1) Refers to the condition of having an abnormal, extreme, and persistent fear of words.
2) Something Greg Koch never experienced prior to 2002, but has periodically since then.
The Stone 20th Anniversary Encore Series lineup can be found online here. In addition to rebrewing fan-favorite beers this year, Stone is celebrating twenty years of true craft with a historical timeline
chronicling the company's two decades. Fans are encouraged to share
their own personal Stone memories throughout the year using #Stone20.
Stone 6th Anniversary Porter is ready to be enjoyed fresh or stored for
several years. With age and proper cellaring temperatures (55°F or
lower), the smokiness may subside, resulting in a beer that further
highlights sweet chocolate flavor.

The
creation involved a daylong brewing session with the NOLA and Oskar
Blues teams at the brewery in Longmont, ColoRADo. The result: The Wolf
and The Lamb. The crews teamed up to double up the Double Pilsner style,
cranking out a 7% super-pale lager packed with Pilsner malt and loaded
with Czech Agnes and Styrian Wolf hops. Crisp and spicy aromas dotted with floral, sage-like undertones of berries, pineapple, and citrus. A slightly bready medium bodied lager flavor continues the European hop onslaught with more herbal and spicy fruity character.
In
addition to members from the breweries, the collaboration beer and
twenty special edition "The Wolf and the Lamb" signed and numbered
giclee prints will be available from J. Pierre on 100lb hot press paper

Spokane, WA...On
the heels of launching Big Juicy IPA, No-Li Brewhouse's second 6-pack
can, the brewery has unveiled a completely new look for their 6-pack
bottle line up - Poser Pale Ale, Crony NW Brown Ale and Slacker Brass
Ale.
"The
new designs tell a story," says No-Li Sales & Marketing Manager,
Callet Ioane. "Like Spokane and the culture we've worked hard to build
at No-Li, we wanted each image to have a vintage feel, while making an
exciting, innovative statement."
To accomplish this feat, No-Li partnered with Spokane Graphic Designer, Chris Bovey.
"No-Li
is a craft beer that does not take itself too seriously. It's
approachable," says Bovey. "I wanted designs that reflected that
feeling - something worn in, familiar and classic, but brand new at the
same time. No-Li is one of the few places in the country that have
embraced the hometown pride and it shows in everything they produce."
In
addition to the 6-pack portfolio, No-Li has partnered with Bovey on
their Visit the Source campaign, upcoming Small Batch Festivals and
several special events.

LONGMONT, CO • April 18, 2016 – Meet
Extrovert IPA. This April, Left Hand is launching a new
American IPA,
bringing together a blend of tropical, fruit-forward hops with a
malty backbone. Brewed to be enjoyed with friends, Left Hand’s new IPA
features a blend of hops and a pleasant, lingering bitterness with a dry
finish. Extrovert IPA will join
Introvert Session IPA as a year-round offering in six-pack and draft.
Crafted
on Left Hand’s new 7 bbl pilot system, Extrovert is the result of over 6
months of development to brew a balanced American IPA that was the
perfect complement
to Introvert. “It’s a very crowded market, so we knew we needed to set ourselves apart.” states
Matt Thrall, Director of Brewing, “Our approach was to develop a recipe that wasn’t just hoppy water, but to create a well-built IPA with complexity and depth.”
Courtesy of Left Hand Brewing
With
a hopped up attitude brewed to stimulate serendipity, Extrovert is
assertive with a big personality of 75 IBUs, yet reveals layers of
complexity for the seasoned
IPA fan. Extrovert IPA is dry hopped at one pound per barrel with a hop
blend that plays well together, consisting of Jarrylo, Cascade, and
Comet. Jarrylo is a Pacific Northwest hop, full of nuance with subtle
stone fruit notes. Cascade brings citrus while
Comet adds tropical flavors and pineapple notes, and is Extrovert &
Introvert’s shared hop variety. In addition, rye and acidulated malt
give the beer a dry mouthfeel and distinct bite. The lasting result is a
hop melody like a basket of fruit with mouthwatering
notes of pineapple, mango, and orange blossom, balanced by sweet
biscuity malt. Extrovert finishes with a pleasant lingering bitterness.
Extrovert IPA will be released in Colorado beginning the week of Monday, April 14th
and is expected to be available across Left Hand’s 36 state
footprint by late May. Release events will kick off on Thursday, April
28th with a
Denver release at Freshcraft, and a
Longmont release at the brewery’s Tasting Room on April 29th. With Extrovert and Introvert in your fridge, Left Hand has a little something for everyone, with all beersonalities
covered. Explore your Beersonality – coming this May!
