Portland, OR –  Laurelwood Brewing Co. has announced their special one-time release of Flanders Red Ale, just in time for the holidays.

“Our Flanders Red Ale is blended and barrel aged. We use imported Belgian malt to get that deep amber hue and rich malt complexity,” says Cameron Murphy, Head Brewer at Laurelwood Brewing Co. “Each sip of Flanders is filled with floral and rich chocolaty flavors that are sure to not disappoint.”

This limited release barrel aged beer takes two years for Laurelwood to produce. This Belgian-style red ale is fermented with Laurelwood’s house ale yeast then soured in wine barrels for one year. Then the sour beer is blended with fresh beer, tank conditioned for another year, hand bottled and bottle conditioned.  “This a very rare, and very special sour beer release from Laurelwood,” says Cameron.

Flanders Red Ale can now be purchased at both Laurelwood Pub locations, a perfect holiday gift for the craft beer lover in your life. The brewery emphasizes that this is a small batch release, with a limited number of 750ml bottles, so be sure to grab them while you can.
