OCBM Takes Oregon’s Summer to New Heights with 450+ Events
PORTLAND, Ore. (July 1, 2016) — The Oregon Brewers Guild is thrilled to celebrate craft beer in Oregon with the month-long party that is Oregon Craft Beer Month.
The 31 fun-filled days of OCBM are loaded with more than 450
beer-related events statewide. So go sip new releases, sample unique
pairings, and visit your local brewery — this is what July is all about.
“July
is the biggest month for craft beer in Oregon for brewers and consumers
alike, with the Fourth of July weekend being the largest craft beer
weekend in the U.S.,” says Brian Butenschoen, executive director of the
Oregon Brewers Guild. “We’ll have nearly 500 events across the 300
brewery owned locations in Oregon, along with our retail partners in
bottle shops, grocery stores, pubs, restaurants, and taverns across the
state.”
Oregon Craft Beer Month kicks off on July 1st with the second annual Portland Craft Beer Festival at The Fields Park in Northwest Portland, July 1-3, 2016.
The ceremonial first keg of the Portland Craft Beer Fest will be
tapped by Oregon Treasurer and Portland’s Mayor-elect, Ted Wheeler. This
festival showcases more than 100 craft beers from 42 Portland
breweries.
For
beer lovers and adventurers alike, the optimal summer getaway awaits
with a trek down one, or all seven, of Oregon’s Ale Trails. Visit
Oregon’s largest beer trail located in Bend, and check out the Ale Trails in Eugene, Eastern Oregon, the Breweries of the Gorge, Southern Oregon, the North Coast, and the soon to be launched Portland Eastside Ale Trail.
The month-long beer celebration culminates with the 29th annual Oregon Brewers Festival, July 27-31
at Waterfront Park. It’s the nation’s largest festival, with over 112
craft beers including 88 from the U.S., and 24 international brews from
the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, and China.
