New Golden Rye Ale is Crisp and Refreshing For Seattle Summers
SEATTLE, Wash. – Redhook Brewery introduced a new summer seasonal that is a true Seattle original. Summerhook is a golden rye ale made for Seattle summers: picnics at Green Lake, day games at Safeco Field, or warm evenings at the Fremont Solstice Fair.
Summerhook is a new addition to Redhook’s seasonal line up that features crisp hoppiness and rye malt characteristics. Summerhook’s light body and 4.7 percent ABV make it a refreshing must for the season.
“Our brewing team set out to create the perfect summer beer,” said Nick Crandall, lead innovation brewer at Redhook Brewery. “Summerhook delivers a subtle hop profile to an interesting high rye malt bill. This beer has amazing balance and is refreshing and sessionable. It is everything you would want in a great summer beer.”

Summerhook is also reflective of an overall branding and packaging refresh for Redhook in 2016. The new packaging features modern classic designs that celebrate Redhook’s heritage and its original look and feel. Extra Special Bitter’s badge and logo lock up inspired the facelift of the entire Redhook brand family, including all core and seasonal beers.
Summerhook will be available nationally starting in early May in six- and 12-packs, and on draught. For more information on Redhook Brewery, visit redhook.com and follow the brewery on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

About Redhook Brewery
Redhook
was born out of the entrepreneurial spirit of early 1980s in the heart
of Seattle. While the term didn’t exist at the time, Redhook became one
of America’s first craft breweries with its focus on creating a better
beer. From a modest start in a former transmission shop in the Seattle
neighborhood of Ballard, to a Fremont trolley barn that housed The
Trolleyman brewpub, to its current breweries in Woodinville, Wash., and
Portsmouth, N.H., Redhook has become one of America’s most recognized
craft breweries. Redhook will open a 10-barrel brewpub in the Capitol
Hill neighborhood of Seattle in the fall of 2016.Redhook’s original brews include ESB, Long Hammer IPA, Extra Special Lager (ESL), and a variety of seasonal beers, including Blackhook, Summerhook, and Winterhook. Redhook beers are available on draught and in bottles and cans around the country. For more information, visit www.redhook.com.
