Craft Brewery Releases Filament Winter IPA for a 3rd Year
Portland,
Ore. (Nov. 5, 2015) – Ecliptic Brewing, a craft brewery and restaurant in Portland’s Mississippi
neighborhood, has released its Filament Winter IPA for a third year. Drawing
inspiration from the winter sun, Filament Winter IPA is a welcomed
bright spot to the season.
“We are really pleased to bring
Filament Winter IPA out for a third year,” said John Harris, owner and
brewmaster at Ecliptic. “This is our seasonal beer brewed for winter with
Munich malt to lend a smooth honey-like flavor loaded with Crystal and
Centennial hops.”

Filament Winter IPA
As the winter sun hangs low in our
sky - some 90 million miles away - solar filaments (giant arcs of cool, dense
plasma) explode from its surface. Ecliptic’s Filament Winter IPA celebrates
this cosmic wonder. Pale Munich and Caramel malts create a rich malt character
with honey-like flavor. A bounty of Crystal, Chinook and Centennial hops combine
to lend a spicy, citrus hop note.

Ecliptic Brewing is a venture from
John Harris, an Oregon beer icon whose background is steeped in the state’s
rich craft brewing history. The name Ecliptic unites Harris’ two passions:
brewing and astronomy, and as such, the brewery celebrates the Earth’s yearly
journey around the sun through both its beer and restaurant menus. Executive
chef Michael Molitor rotates his seasonally inspired menu every six weeks in
accordance with the old world calendar. Harris’ signature beers include Spica
Pilsner, Orbiter IPA, Phobos Single Hop Red Ale, and Capella Porter. For more
